About Us

The Southern California Amateur Baseball League, established in 1993 offers baseball for all to enjoy! The SCABL is an Independent League and an affiliate of the National Adult Baseball Association. The SCABL is your Premier Baseball League in Southern California. Offering various levels of play.  Encompassing Southern California from East Los Angeles/Pasadena out through Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino through San Jacinto/Hemet back to Temecula up the 15 and back around through to East Los Angeles.
We currently offer 2 Seasons per year; Spring/Summer and Summer/Fall Seasons that are played Sunday's only.  When it is possible we host a Twilight League that plays mid-week, June-August. This year we do hope to offer a Saturday League. Announcements for this will be forthcoming.
We are organized into groups categorized by age and ability levels of play, Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced:

Divisions Offered When Available: Must have a minimum of 6 teams:

  • 18 & Over; Rookie, A, AA, AAA, Wood Bat Open
  • 25, 35, 45 & Over Wood Bat
  • Our League now has all Divisions playing Wood Bat. For teams coming in to the league we can offer significant savings on wood and wood composite bats; APEX, DeMarini, Trinity Bats.

This divisional structure provides a level playing field for each player - regardless of experience or ability. The SCABL seeks to foster a competitive environment that is challenging for all players.
The SCABL is still proud to endorse the NABA National Tournaments. They offer tournaments around the country in all age levels, 18+, 25+, 35+, 45+, 55+, 65+. These tournaments are open to everyone either already on a team or you can join through the player-pool on the national website.

The levels of play are described as:
AAA- Advanced level - typically for players that have 3-4 years of college and/or professional experience.
AA- Intermediate level - is generally for the players with high school or some college experience.
A- Recreational level - is similar and in the AA family.
Rookie- Provides an opportunity for players whose love of the game perhaps exceeds their level of experience.
