Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How do I sign Up?
The best way to join as an individual or small group is to come to one of the tryouts.  We typically hold a tryout before each season.  Players are drafted or made into a team right after tryouts.  If you miss tryouts your best option is to join the Waitlist/Player-Pool.  Select Registration tab on the front page, then select Waitlist/Player-Pool Registration and submit the requested information.

Once we receive this we will check with teams and see where and if we can place you.  Another way of getting on a team is to go out to a game and ask the manager if he needs any more players.  Our league is always looking for full or partial teams as well.  If you have a group that would like to play we can help you make a team.

When and where is the player draft?
The draft takes the end of January each year. The exact date and location are determined after the 1st of the year. Typically we hold tryouts the Sunday before the Super Bowl. Please continue to check the website for more information. Tryouts is used to help place players on teams that need them! These are just placement tryouts -- a tool to ensure competitive balance throughout the league. The SCABL is committed to providing an opportunity for ALL adult players with a passion for the game to play. We will also hold a tryout before the Summer/Fall Season.

What happens if I'm not drafted?
If players go undrafted we try to create a new team with you.  If that is not possible then all remaining players are placed on a player pool from which managers will draw new players when needed. If the player pool exceeds 15 players we will attempt to create a new team!

When does the season start?

How many games per season?
