Your 2017 Baseball Season, last updated 1/17/2017

The SCABL Since 1993

Started in 1993 known as the NABA So Cal we have evolved into what is now known as the SCABL is planning your 2017 Baseball Season and our 25th Year Anniversary. The SCABL is all Wood Bat currently offering various levels of play; Recreational (A), High School (AA) and Experienced (AAA.) Minimum age is 18 with players upwards of 70 years old still playing.

Each year we try to separate divisions into age groups, unfortunately players of all ages like playing with a mixed age groups. We will try once again for a 30&Over Division.

In the SCABL you have choices; you can be a Player/Manager, a Manager or just join a team through Tryouts or the Player-Pool. Joining through Tryouts is almost a guarantee of being placed on a team. If you have a few friends or you just want to manage a team draft additional players as needed to form your team. Those of you who already have a team you can fill holes through the tryout.

Your Typical Season:

  • Spring/Summer and Fall Seasons
  • Age Groups, Divisions and Levels of Play:
As always our goal is to offer a competitive level for all age groups and ability.

Tryouts- last updated 1/21/2017

  • If you miss any tryout please join our Player-Pool Registration link on the Home page.
  • When: Sunday January 29th
  • Where: Covina High School, Varsity Field
  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Cost: $5
  • What to Bring? glove of course, bat if you have one.
  • How long will tryouts last? About 2 hours.
  • When will I know the team I am on? The player draft takes place immediately after tryouts. So you will find out right away. If you are not picked we try to organize new teams.
  • Once I am on a team how much will it cost? We will be implementing a per player fee which we believe will take some pressure off the manager to collect from each player and put the onus on the player. The individual player fee including umpire fee averages roughly $13.95 per game. Most teams ask for the players to bring the umpire fee to each game while others might ask for it upfront.
  • Teams: If you are on a team and not getting enough playing time you can become a free agent after the first 4 games and ask other teams if they could use a player.
  • Feel free to e-mail any other questions you may have.
